 The Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency
(Buckhorn Children’s Center). The primary focus of the center is
to serve the neglected, dependent, disturbed and culturally deprived
children in Appalachia, throughout the states of Kentucky and Ohio.
The agency, however, does not limit its services exclusively to
children. The Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency provides two
residential and rehabilitative care facilities for boys and girls in
Kentucky and one in Ohio; a comprehensive day care program;
community recreation programs; an emergency shelter; medical
assistance; tutoring; family therapy; group homes; many Montessori
Schools and even household maintenance for those eligible. The PCWA
is governed by a Board of Directors and is under the capable
direction of Executive Director Charles Baker and an outstanding
staff. |
