Pentecost
Sunday, May 23, 2021
Red is the color of the day: clothing, flowers, banners and balloons. Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus' apostles. As part of the Pentecost celebration, worshipers bring red geraniums to be planted outside on church grounds.
After worship the congregation proceeds to the courtyard to burn the palms from Palm Sunday. The day is a wonderful celebration of the birth of the Christian Church.
